Contact with other Native Americans
The Cree were friendly with the Ojibwa and Stoney tribes. Other than that, the different bands of Cree were closely allied with each other. Once the Europeans came, they were allies with the French Canadians and the Metis people. Southern Crees frequently fought against the powerful Iroquois and Dakota tribes, and the northern Crees were enemies of the Inuit.
